Clayson Company History:
Claeys started out as a Belgian manufacturing company in the agricultural equipment sector in 1906, specialising in the threshing machines. In 1960, Claeys became one of the prime combine producers in Europe, after producing the first self-propelled combine harvester. In 1967, the firm changed its name from Claeys to Clayson and merged with Ford soon after. Some of the company’s most renowned combines include: Clayson M103, Clayson M133 and the most recent model, Clayson 1520.
What Are Combine Harvesters and What are they used for?
Combine harvesters are agricultural equipment used to harvest grain crops. Combines such as the Clayson used combine harvesters enable the reaping, threshing and sorting of crops such as wheat, oats, rye and flax. These processes are possible due to the adjustable nature of the head, which makes the Clayson used combine harvesters operate in different environments. Some of these environments are steep slopes, which need to be harvested for their fertile soil. The process is called hillside levelling and is conducted through the use of hydraulic technology. Side-hill levelling is similar to hillside levelling, but it is conducted on milder slopes and produces highly efficient thrashing. The different designs of Clayson used combine harvesters are based on different technologies. The conventional combine uses a rotating cylinder in the front, which enable the careful grain selection, while the rest of the machine separates the grains from the straws. The rotary combine operates using a centrifugal technology to enable grain selection. The centrifugal system allows faster harvesting and a gentler conduct of the seeds, which were frequently crushed through the rotating technology.
